About Us

Vivere Pantelleria was established on the island in 2005, and it was born as a tourist service agency. In 2009 it gained the necessary permits to become the tour operator named Why Not Travel (Vivere Pantelleria Ldt). It's initial goal, which is thoroughly maintained with the same degrees of involvement and commitment, is to make the naturalistic beauties of a fascinating and mysterious island known and appreciated.

Why Not Travel stood out immediately in the area thanks to its competence in offering the ideal holiday to be lived in one of its Dammuso, each of which is chosen with care, special attention to features and details, and giving priority to qualitatively comfortable buildings, such that it determined an ever increasing satisfaction of our clients.

Vivere Pantelleria chooses its Dammuso, now widely considered to be a symbol of the island, amongst its picturesque hamlets, in places which favour the view of the infinite sea, the setting of the sun (often behind the Tunisian mountains that may be seen on the horizon on clear nights), and the typical architectural landscape, where the holiday is not simply limited to the seaside, but includes all what Nature, in its being, is able to offer. With or without swimming pool and to whichever category they belong to (Jeans, Classic or Elegance), each Dammuso offers the possibility to relax completely in any of its inside and outside spaces, and the magical elegance of the settings proposed is always able to arouse emotions, far away from the usual daily frenzy. For some generations now, the Vivere Pantelleria staff live and work on the island, particularly in the typical hamlet of Scauri where its offices are located.

With respect to other tour operators it excels for its ability to follow the changes imposed by the times without ever losing in style and rigour in the offering of the best reception and availability to all who choose its structures. Day-by-day their expertise is devoted to the needs of the Guests in a high quality offer of all services linked to the stay, which are supported by a long knowledge and experience of the island. This will enable a real enjoyment, making the most of the naturalistic and archaeological sites, as well as of wine and food routes, whatever the season.

Danilo Giglio was born in Pantelleria in 1983 where he lived until the age of 13. He attained a Tourism HND Diploma at the Leonardo Sciascia Tourism HNC of Trapani and he attended a two-year Tourism and Hotel-management course at the International School of Tourism Sciences of Rome that he concluded with a work experience in the organisation of events and congresses at the ENIC agency in Florence.

He achieved an excellent level of the English and French languages after having studied abroad. He has worked at the reception of hotel structures and as a teacher of agency practice and reception techniques at the Tourism HNC of Pantelleria. He has always cooperated with the Agency offering his abilities in the booking process and his knowledge in the organisation of journeys and events. His efficiency, his rigour and his professionalism enabled him to become sole director of Vivere Pantelleria's Why Not Travel that he manages in collaboration with the other members of the Ltd.

Fabrizio Giglio was born in Palermo in 1975 but has lived in Pantelleria until the age of 18 where he attained a CPA Diploma. He started his working career directly in the tourism field by working as a reception secretary at the Punta Fram Hotel of the Club Vacanze Group in Pantelleria and in Madonna di Campiglio for many high seasons.

A long stay in the city of Brighton, supported by adequate studies, has enabled him with the correct usage of the English language in interpersonal relationships. Being a Marketing expert, he is an associate and collaborator of the Vivere Pantelleria Agency for all that concerns the technical management of its website and the advertisement and sales sectorCell. 338.5065718

Antonietta Valenza was born and has always lived in Pantelleria where she moulded her personality achieving a Literature Studies Degree at the University of Palermo. From 1976 to 2001 she has taught at Pantelleria's Middle School, where she has always been very active in organising journeys, cultural and educational exchanges and theatre and photography workshops for her students.
She left teaching to dedicate herself to become an estate agent and collaborate with the Vivere Pantelleria Agency, with the aspiration of promoting her island with professionalism and love to whoever comes by. She works in the Agency with her sons Fabrizio and Danilo Giglio and with her husband Giuseppe Giglio. Cell. 338.2994515

Giuseppe Giglio was born in Pantelleria and has studied in Trapani where he attained a CPA Diploma at the Calvino HNC. He immediately started working as a CPA for Dragnino Exstrabar and the Patania Company. In 1977 he returned to Pantelleria where, after a one-year work experience as a CPA for the municipality he entered the Banco di Sicilia Bank.

Thanks to his ability in the credits and loans sector he worked there until retirement in 2010. From then he is president of the Rotary Club and cooperates with Vivere Pantelleria by offering his administration skills.

Silvia Ferrandes is a member of the Vivere Pantelleria team from 2011. Her tasks are to assist clients who arrive at the airport and to take care of bookings at the agency. She was born in Pantelleria in 1984, where she later achieved a Social Sciences Secondary School Diploma. She obtained an Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication Degree at the Ferrara University that she concluded with a work experience at the Tourist Web-TV, a web television for the Adriatic Coast.

She achieved a Cultural, Performing Art and New Creativity Events Master Degree at the Cattolica University of Milan that she completed with a work experience in the Culture Sector of Milan's provincial administration which consisted in following the 10th edition of the La Milanesiana Festival. In Milan she has worked for several press agencies in the fashion, food, record and sports (she has followed the 93rd Giro d'Italia in the role of fotoreporter and press agent for Škoda Italia) areas.

Maria Pia Bonomo was born in Pantelleria where she later studied, moulded her personality and achieved an Accountant and Bookkeeper Expert Diploma.

For many years now she has been the accountant of the Servizi e Turismo Ltd. CPA, and since the summer of 2010 she follows the accounts of clients, agencies and suppliers for Vivere Pantelleria Ltd.
